HISTORY
Born in Troy,NC, Charles Flowers joined the military at age eighteen. He went through Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and was trained in technical school in Denver, Colorado. His first duty assigment was at Hahn AB, Germany. While in Germany he met Janice who was also a USAF member. They were married and had their first child, Jarrell, while they were in Europe. The family came back to San Antonio in January of 1983 on a special duty assignment to Kelly Air Force Base - Security Hill. He later became a professor military instructor (PME) and served in that capacity until he ended his 12 year military career in November of 1991. Throughout his military career Charles considered what: leadership training, discipline, and spiritual training could do for those in their teens years. A desire to initiate a ministry with that focus led him out of the military to a staff position at Faith Outreach Center International (FOCI) as a youth pastor. In the summer of 1995 they began CBC for boys. CBC was intended originally for boys only. However in the summer of 1996 while Commandant Flowers was rejoicing over the success that CBC was having with the young men,the Lord spoke to his heart about young ladies. He was convinced that they needed to begin to train young ladies also and in the summer of 1997 they began training both male and female flights.
